The Bachelor, Robert Morris Repeating Duchamp

Abstract
In the early 1960s Robert Morris created a group of art works considered to reflect the first steps in conceptual art, albeit peripheral to his minimalist sculpture. Contrary to this perception I show that these critical works undermined existing aesthetic norms of making art and its central principles in favor of the simultaneous art object that reopened a fundamental discourse on the conventions of the period.
